People are losing the ability to talk to each other.

How many times in a pub do you see a group of friends not talking to each other but heads down in their smartphones.

It's quite sad really.

i don't know, i'm usually on my phone.

Albeit not much different to people (in the olden days) reading the paper, doing a crossword or reading a book in the pub or on the train, or those in the 80s with a Walkman in the street. Or those folk watching the rugby but listening to the racing/other sport on the wireless etc.

Nope - but it's the evolution from those earlier behaviours, one or two might have bought and read a paper (then passed it around), but the technological advancement measn they are all now likely to have a smartphone etc.

so what you're saying is on a Friday night, 5 lads would have been sat in the local, two would be reading a paper? wake up mate.

Even if what you say did happen the other three would still be talking to each other. you go into a boozer now and you'll notice the vast majority of those under the age of 30 are glued to their phones. the vast majority over the age of 30 are sat talking to each other, having the craic. even if they're watching sport they're still communicating.

Look around the south stand. all the teeny boppers and the young girls who go to hang round the lads. they're all stood on their phones. They've paid £20odd or whatever it is to watch a game and they're facing the other way on facebook half the time! it's Baffling.

The mobile phone is nothing like a paper, book or Walkman.

Nope - what you're saying is "on a Friday night blah blah blah" to support your opinion,which is different to mine.

Neither is "correct", but if you open your mind to different possibilities you might one day learn something.
