I have often defended referees in the past but GRIFFITHS is so inept RFL must be scraping the barrel. 

Not only are his video referrals comical along with 2 successful Captains challenge referrals meaning his on field decisions are wrong. 

The ultimate key stone cops moment came when he blocked a pass in a clear try scoring opportunity but then had the temerity to “dive” to make out he was tripped to try to excuse himself. Fundamental refereeing error that you learn not to ever do early in your refereeing training. 

He should never be allowed to referee SL. 

Give over, there was a break down the left, Handley threw a poor speculative pass inside that missed the runner ad almost hit the referee. On the challenges, one knock on was so close to touching another player it was hard to tell even with the frame by frame.

His VR referrals were bizarre. He was stood right next to two of them, he could not have been closer. Mind, he's far from the only referee in that regard. On a wider point, in my view the ridiculous "try/no try" lottery needs to go. The RU "is there any reason I can't award a try" is preferable.

I thought the ref was ok. Just frustrating that teams are allowed to hold on for so long, but that seems to be an RFL directive to let the game flow etc. rather than individual refs.

He did a pretty good job I thought.

Ref was fine. Would help if they got rid of the video ref check for trys where they think it was OK. Allow teams to challenge if they think it wasn't. Would help the game massively imo

being right on top means a poor view. it's to close.in football, 10 yards is the perfect range, Im guessing RL it's half that

It might be easier for R.L refs if they weren’t instructed to or hadn’t taken it upon themselves to coach the 26 players on the field whilst trying to referee the game. Instead of having to warn every player of an impending penalty or giving them a running commentary of how close they actually were to commiting an offence,  they should just let the players get on with it and stick to making decisions based on players adherence to the rules. Can you imagine in football a ref shouting from 20 yards away, “Don’t touch it Marcus, you’re offside ! “ or “I’ll let you off with that handball but that’s your last chance Mo”.  The refs and the governing body are making it far harder for themselves than it needs to be.

If the thread wasn't titled Marcus GRIFFITHS I wouldn't have been able to tell you who the ref was. I guess I focus on other things.
