That's the thing with RU. About 200,000 play the game in this country - but only 15 can play for England at any one time.

Now RU is professional, it's time to see their player pool, especially at the younger ages, being our player pool as well (in addition to those that play RL at community level). Now RU is professional (and teaches touch rugby under RL laws) RL in this country should be less coy about offering opportunities to play RL to young athletes who happen to have started in RU. There will be 10's of thousands of young players who can run, pass, tackle and kick who are really (if they only they had the opportunity to realise it) more cut out for RL than RU.

Every professional club should gear up to offer free season tickets to registered and bone fide playing members (juniors as well as open age) of all amateur RL and RU clubs in their areas.
