I have no wish to open old wounds, but I feel that debate is waranted with regard to the 4% drop (450 a game) decline in attendances in the NRL thus far.
96 fixtures will have been completed by Monday night, 50% of the season.
SoO looks like it could get 186,000 fans in 3 games, so why on gods name are the fans not rolling up to regular games? With record club memberships, is enough being done by the clubs/NRL to get fans to games as neutrals?
How many RL fans in Sydney will try and get to 4 games this weekend? Is there a special ticket that would encourage this level of support? Would special 3 game/4 game weekend discounted ticket vouchers be a good idea to include in next seasons non-ticketed memberships? Quick glance at pricing shows that if you want covered seats then you could be looking at $160 for the weekend.......would a $100 ticket work?
This weekends weather is looking settled, with a few showers on Saturday evening, so I predict that by Monday, the average crowds will be ahead of 2010....119,727 needed to make it so
