According to the RL press, it is strongly rumoured that the Magic weekend will be back in Cardiff next year.
I don't have a problem with that.
However, some bright spark has come up with the idea that it should be the opening weekend in February.
Who in their right mind is going to spend two days freezing their extremities off?
Please feel free to contact the RFL by e-mail enquiries@rfl.uk.com to give your views.
I already have, but as yet have had no reply. No surprise there.

I think it is better having a Grand Opening of the Superleague than this seasons pathetic opening Crusaders v Leeds in snowy conditions.
Yes there are minus points to the proposal but there are plus points too.
Extra Publicity to launch the Superleague
Guaranteed Fixtures to be on.
Roof will be closed, the temperature should be higher than being outside.
RL Fans will be fresh and looking forward to the new season.
I would say on the whole it is a winner.

i strongly disagree.its bad enough freezing your bits off watching your own team in february,no way am i freezing them off watching someone else.too cold to be sat there for 6 hrs roof or no roof.

The majority of fans seem to want Cardiff, so it looks like fan power has won out here. Personaly I dont care for the weekend, and would be happy to see it scrapped. The RFL seem to believe it draws interest to our game, no idea how myself, its not like thousands of welsh turned up in cardiff, or thousands of scots turned up in Edinburgh.
Atleast if they do go with feb, they have it in the best place to do so i.e The Millenium stadium, shut the roof and put the radiators on.
