So it's taken a while and some false starts, but few would argue we're in a better position now. Top 4, the Wembley hoodoo put to rest, 6 players in the Dream Team, crowds starting to tick up again, record merchandise sales and upweighted community involvement, with players like Turgut, Fash, Matongo etc emerging internally. And now the outlandish suggestion that a game on the road could take us to Sydney! Plenty to feel satisfied with.

Got to admit I was sceptical for a few years, as there was too many false dawns and hype (which to be fair Pearson has owned up to) we are in a massively better position than we were back in 2011.

I don't want to contemplate where we'd be now if he hadn't bought the club.

The reawakening took a little longer than we (or Pearson) hoped but it's been worth it. Not just a tranformation on the pitch but off it too. Under the previous owners an 8th placed finished was deemed 'exciting' now missing the top four would be a failure.

Plenty of chat at the time that he knew next to nothing about the game so would fail. Delivered more in 6 years than many childhood fan/lifetime in the game chairmen have in decades.

Certainly don't miss J. Rules spin, Agars style of rugby, having to announce next years signings to get interest up and a top eight finish being deemed a success.

Not unexpected when you remember who he was replacing. Took him a little while to find his feet but we certainly haven't looked back since he arrived

My Timehop begs to differ. There were many of my friends that were sceptical especially as at the time he was in bed with Allam and many believed that he was the instigator. Thank goodness they were wrong when you see what the mad Egyptian is doing to City right now!
