With the current playground rumours of new backers arriving at BV, and with MC telling us all that relegation is good, it got me thinking into some of the psychology of the last few days.

Why would MC go on TV and essentially back Applegarth and the results we find ourself achieving every week, and do it with a straight face.

The only reason you could have that level of brass neck would be either if you were deluded, or if you knew what the impending situation was going to be. Other than the controlled and stage managed Fans Forum, John Minards has been kept in his padded cell, had his Twitter account taken from him and largely kept away from the masses. JM was always good with comms, and his very affable and believable manner agreed with me very much - whereby of course MC is somewhat different a communicator.

So is this person who is inbound “to drive the commercial side of that thing” (points to the new east stand) got a little bit more in their locker. Or their bank account? Or is that indeed a genuine CEO type who is coming in as part of a new ownership structure and that means that when MC moves on, so do JM etc…? Are they both in the departure lounge as such hence having an outwardly apparent low care factor…?

Probably unconnected but you also see Connor Grace is on the move, Phil the announcer left (though he has obvious career aspirations) and possible other movements at the club.

Clearly I’m putting 2 and 2 together and getting 3.95 but I can’t help feeling like this change is not just about employing an administrative guy to take bookings for the East Stand Conference room.

Is it possible that the new East Stand manage is part of a brand new ownership structure, helicoptered in by the new owner?

Bit of fun but also a genuine question. Is there a bigger picture behind all of this, and to MC’s strange interview and demeanour on Thursday night???

It's always Minnards doing the communicating in my experience.

I think all your points have been explained at some point in the recent comms except maybe Applegarth and that's just personal opinion of what you or the board think of him.

I think there are some pure fantasists of all hues on here.

I think some new money is on the way, but I think it will be of a more modest amount. I’d guess six rather than seven figures. Welcome it possibly not a game changer.

Let's say someone put £500,000 into the club for playing or coaching requirements this year. Not long term. Just to keep us up.

What would you do with it? You can't bring in over seas players without paying off the ones we had so there's a big hole in that money already.
Any suggestions?

The days of getting fairly decent NRL players over never mind mid season are slim to non. Poor currency rates, stricter working visa’s, an extra team in the NRL and not to mention they’ve upped the minimum salary over there. If someone invested £500k, I’d get it for next year to make sure we stay full time in the championship.
