No surprise here. It’s a shame that we lose a lad at 22 with over 100 games and grand final & challenge cup final experience. He’ll keep improving and I reckon will go on to be a very good prop.

Ive been a critic of Sutton over the last few years, with concerns over his ball carry and tendency to have a brain fart, but to be fair to the lad he has had a very good season so far and whilst not a shock it is a shame to see him go.

Replacement wise do we need another Prop? I think probably yes.

Steve Clarke from Souths looking for a gig in SL but I hope we stay clear of him. Good pro but another who lacks that real size that I think we need going forward.

It's an interesting question. Could it be to do with rugby mentality in Wigan compared to anywhere else? Wigan is a complete hotbed for competitive rugby from schools to open age and is your main sport in the town. Where football rules the roost in most other cities and towns could it be that because kids grow up with wanting to be the best at rugby league player they can be and unfortunately that is the NRL now. Long gone are the days of top line players coming over here and they now look at our lads more too. Just an opinion with not being from Wigan but seeing how successful league is there compared to anywhere else could be a reason

I must say the timing of these announcements lately by Wigan are baffling. We are at a critical point in the season, why announce things now it just disrupts the team even more.
