I don’t get how he can complain about the current system! We need promotion and relegation to stop stagnant teams like Hull KR reducing the intensity of Super League.
The current system is fair, as you get 7 games to dig yourself out of the mess you created, rather than automatic promotion and relegation. The current system didn’t promote a Championship team last year, as they didn’t deserve it. This year it did, and Leigh defiantly deserved it.
If the clubs haven’t planned contracts correctly with a Championship retention clause then that’s on them, not the system.
We cannot go back to the licensing system, as it’s about how many mates you have and how much money the club as, rather than how they perform on the field.

| I wonder how he thinks it's been for Championship players these past number of years? No hope of the vast majority of them, or their clubs, or their supporters bettering themselves. Hopefully he'll get a chance to find out first hand, what life in the Championship is like!

| If KR do drop to The Championship, Cockayne (or Cockoop after his catching in the 8s) might be glad of the system at the end of next season. Since the system is set in stone this season, it might be sage to await the outcome of the MPG before campaigning for the abolition of ups and downs. Just a thought for the three unwise monkeys

| Ben Cockayne is a risk toyour health-witness the late shot on Ryan Brierley last Saturday. What about the mental health of Championship fans, especially Fev.of a few years ago and Leigh recently, who upto last season had no chance of promotion, despite repeatedly winning the competition they were in. As an aside if RIck Stone doesnt fancy Brierley, are we not interested in getting him back? I know I would love to have him back, but has he burnt too many bridges?

Identical to the challenge on Cory Paterson when he set up Josh Drinkwater in our game at HKR. Yet nobody seems to have seen either challenge when the review panel sat!

| These players have been coasting along for years with little or no thought to what may happen if they dropped down a league. The previous system of franchises allowed the players to become lazy and complacent with a 'the worst that can happen is we'll finish bottom of the league' mentality, and the fact that the Championship teams did so poorly in the play off's last year cemented their belief that they were all untouchable.
Welcome to the REAL world of professional sport Mr Cockayne where, if you don't perform you're at risk of losing your livelihood.
