| With the money issues they have why dont they go with a cheaper up and coming coach like other clubs in the championship
Sheens will want experienced expensive players rather than working with developing players - hes unproven in UK

| Wouldn't be much cop at Leigh, looks like we're going to be signing all the scraps from other clubs. No promotion for us, but at least I can continue to enjoy my Sunday afternoon's without the daft Thursday and Friday night games.

| Why would a coach of Timothy Sheen's stature agree to become coach of a team that has only part time players and little prospect of rejoining Super League in the foreseeable future?
I suspect that the reason is that he needs a job, a well paying job, and that no other financially comparable offers were in sight.
What a pity that the Catalans Dragons didn't make a move for him.

There's more to rugby and life than super league. Good luck to him at Widnes.

Why do you want Catalan to go down to the championship because that is what would have happened he is yesterdays man

How dare you speak of Timothy Sheens in that disrespectful way!
Next you will be writing that Wayne Bennett is "yesterday's man," because he could not win a premiership in his first year at South Sydney. Everybody knows that the loss of Gregory Inglis, and the serious injury to Samuel Burgess's shoulder, doomed South Sydney's chances of success in 2019, regardless of who the coach was.
The same applies to Timothy Sheen's unhappy performances as a coach of English clubs. He wasn't given a strong enough roster of players, either at Salford or Hull Kingston Rovers, and that is why he was not successful with those clubs.
Timothy Sheens is a coach of great distinction. When given a strong roster of players, as he had at Canberra Raiders and Wests Tigers, he has been very successful

| So you’re saying Sheens needs a blank cheque to be successful.

Sheens has a superb record in Australia but, in the UK, he's been less than average.
Almost got Salford relegated but, then backed the wrong horse and went down with KR instead.
Salford have done rather better with their young English Coach, Ian Watson.
