Thanks for compiling the fixtures!
I think points on the board are crucial at this stage. One big performance each could be enough to get Wakefield and Hudds over the line. Like the rest of the strugglers, they aren’t very good but they do have 6 goes to deliver it. A battering at Saints next time out could just about bring Wakey’s points difference back into play vs the bottom two, but really they and Hudds are effectively three points clear of us and London.
A lot will depend on a few key fixtures within the group - and, as the season winds down, what other opponents have to play for. For example, our final game at Salford looks better for us if they’re already certain of being in or out of the play-offs.
At some point I still expect Leeds to remember they are Leeds and win a couple more - but i’ve felt like that for a while and time is running out.
We (Hull KR) are at least are willing to admit we’re up against it this time. If we can stay positive, without burying our head in the sand, we’ve got a chance, but Smith has a job on to sort our psychology as much as our play. In contrast London seem to have plenty of bounce. Loser of our game against them goes down would be my guess at this stage. And that might come down to injuries to key players, and rub of the green. The tension at Craven Park probably wouldn’t help our cause, so being at home will be a double-edged sword.
On a side note, i’m generally in favour of P&R, but to have nearly half of SL players livelihoods hanging by a thread isn’t great when we’re trying to support better mental health. I think the cancelling contracts on relegation thing needs to be looked at again, and at least softened. For example, a % cut on sliding scale for higher earners.
