Leigh replacing Hull kr has been blamed for the poor sales at this years magic weekend.

"I think there's a few reasons (for the dip). It's the third year of Newcastle and we no longer have Hull KR, who are now taking 2.500 fans to the Summer Bash. If they were coming here, they would have the third highest attendance." Super League executive director Roger Draper.

Personally I'm not going as Leeds are the last game on the Sunday night and I have work the next day. I think magic should be on a bank holiday weekend as I'm sure I'm not the only person in this position. If the stadium isn't available on the bank holiday, find another one that is and move elsewhere.

Interesting thread title , so we are being blamed for a lack of sales ? , just us is it ? , so how many did HKR take last year ?

I will be attending just on the Sunday , with a trip to Catalans in 5 weeks a weekend in Newcastle is just too much I'm afraid

Actually we'd sold over 3000 tickets over a month ago, but it's unfair for anyone to blame Leigh or any club, for poor ticket sales though.

rovers hardly took any last year as they knew they we're on for a hiding. They're taking plenty to blackpool as they'll give the mediocre bulls a drubbing

We took plenty of fans thank you, and yes we lost but we certainly didn't get a hiding.

This is one of the reasons why many fans were disappointed to see lowly Leigh replace hopeful Hull KR in Super League. It is not fair to the reputation of our game to have a defective club roster.

Sinfield and the pseudo frog, must try better.

I wouldn't blame Leigh on the lack of fans. I'd say the likes of Salford hit attendances more on events like this.......Their numbers are woeful.

Glad it's been noticed by the RFL mind.

But stuff the magic weekend this year, the summer bash will be fantastic.
