| Is he mentally stable?
Judging by some post match things I've read, he seems to be living in an alternate reality.
In his world, he's some form of badly done to [iuber coach[/i who despite injuries and bad referees has laid down the foundations for great success at hull. Indded all gentle needs to do is hang his name tag up on the door and trophies will role in.
The reality however for everyone it seems, except richard agar is that he's shown himself to be completly out of his depth coaching at this level. Terrible record in derbies knockout games and shocking performances in the league.
A de-motivated team, void of ideas or flair, making basic errors, poor recruitment.
If I was a wakefield fan, i'd be worried.

| Not much we as fans can do about it. A fans forum held a month or two ago outlined the supporters discontent with the potential recruitment of Agar, but they still went ahead and appointed him regardless.
All we can do is give him a chance to see what he can do at a club with less expectation on his shoulders. Not holding out much hope though.

| Richard Agar shows why there are very few British coaches in Super league. His after match comments (following defeats) are baffling at times and he tends to use the same excuses just rotating them after each defeat. He has proven time and again he is not nor never will be a top coach.

Actually his after match analyses are usually spot on and accurately identify where things went wrong. The problem is that he was never able to rectify the issues he correctly identified, which is why he used a similar analysis on a regular basis.

| To coin a popular phrase...you can't polish a turd. Wayne Bennett couldn't have done anything with our team. The club letting coach after coach pick Horne in the halves was a huge mistake, never was, is or will be a half...ever.
The three decent halves we have had, Head,Dykes and Long were all crocks but when fit showed what a good side we could have been.
Seemingly a fear of spending for a good half back who is fit has held us back for years. Richard Agar is a good coach but you can't play with flair if you don't possess flair players, Like Peter Sharpe he has been hard done by. He has after all taken a very average side into the play offs.
We as Hull FC fans expect our club to be up there with the best seemingly regardless of the playing quality of our team. We are a big name club with a big history, we are not nor have been a force on the pitch since the eighties.
I think our expectations and the pressure we put on our players should be lowered.

| Awful coach. Hull have been very lucky with injuries this year (In fairness they deserved some luck). OK Long got injured but Obs has done well. You missed Fitzgibbon but thats a bout it. Hull had the squad to be at least challenging for the top 4. Not scraping into the 8.
Don't see how he's left Hull in a godo place considering hardl anyone has come through the Hull acadmy (apart from Houghton & Briscoe) has any academy layer made their debut this year. Not having a pop at Hull, just saying can't see hhow Agar has keft you in a good position

You can't polish a turd but you can spray some air freshner and make it smell nicer.
Agar effectivley went through months of diaharea without even wiping his bottom (errm think we best stop with the turd analogys).
The point is hull have the potential to be a beacon of rugby league perfection, agar turned them into a skidmark on the underpants of the game. (whoops!)
I can only imagine what seasoned pros like fitzgibbon were thinking when they had to listen to some delusional fool talking about fitting round pegs into square holes

| Like 99% of posters on here I'm glad to see the back of him. He had obviously had a charisma bypass and failed miserably in his "communicating with the fans exam". I actually feel sorry for Wakey but am really looking forward to next season and seeing what a real coach can do.

| Terrible record. He's had the time and failed miserably. He continually picks players out of position. He has brought through nobody since he's been at Hull. The only players from our academy that he's given debuts are:
Ash Thackray (1 sub appearance in 200icon_cool.gif
Josh Hodgson (2 sub appearances in 2009)
Cunningham (1 sub appearance in 2010)
Nicklas (3 sub appearances in 2010)
Lyne (5 starts and 1 sub appearances in 2010, same in 2011)
Briscoe was debuted by Sharpe.
So in 3 and a half seasons, Agar has managed a total of 10 starts and 9 sub appearances for our academy players. In 94 SL games and 2 play-off games, that's all he's attempted to blood despite some awful injury records that normally force clubs to blood youngsters. Instead, he's chosen to keep average squad players and play them out of position which has been successful very little. He makes very strange interchanges at weird times, sometimes choosing not to even use some, or bringing them on for 5 minutes at the end of the game.
The guy is a clueless idiot IMO. I feel very sorry for Wakefield as they're going to have to endure this next year and for however long the club choose to stick by him.
And to top it off, Agar is now signing players from his last club that he would only start in positions that weren't natural to them and dropping them because of their performances in those positions! I don't get it!?
