I've been a big fan of these two ever since they uttered the immortal lines "Hi I'm John" "and I'm Edward" "and together we are... ...John and Edward!" but now it appears millions around the country are too with their odds of winning being slashed and rumours that they polled more of the public vote than anyone else at the weekend.

The Fun police reckon it's not fair because they aren't as talented as other contestants. Yes they are they are talented in a different way than the other X factor finalist ie. they know how to entertain people where as the others know how to copy every other plastic, manufactured, processed, soulless pop puppet under Cowell's control.


He has successfully managed to hijack the singles charts with his processed, overhyped dross thanks to these talent shows and the public are now rebelling against this and the whole thing is being eating away from the inside by itself. Cowell should realise that he created this monster and this is all his own doing. Cheryl Cole can shove it as well.

No no no no. I agree about processed pop (pap) that is produced. But these simply have no talent. At all. it's the JohnSargeant syndrome - people don't want to watch to see talent, they watch to laugh at them. It's just popular culture consuming itself, vaguely encouraging in that people eventually resist being treated as passive dupes who can be relied upon to shell out each week to make a rich man even richer.

Interesting that none of the singers get paid despite being the substance of the show.

Apart from the fact people are still voting every week so millions still flowing into the Cowell coffers.

I've never understood why people in Eire are allowed to enter these sort of things. Is it just an extention of the frankly bizarre British misconception that Westlife and Boyzone are "our boys"?

In the interests of equality, sHouldn't we open our competitions to every surrounding country? I'd hate to think that two utter gimps were waiting forlornly in Norway, Iceland or France wishing they could inflict themselves on a British talent show.

Should try and get them to play at Odsal next season!
