| Quote Fishermanscap="Fishermanscap"For me, there are two great destructors of society that are man-made. They are religious people and political people though frankly there one of the same in my book.
These are people who are utterly convinced they are right and have the answers. At the moment the worst offenders are the die-hard socialists on here, but if labour were in charge I’m sure it would be the other way around.
They cover their bitterness by claiming that debate and questioning make governments do the right thing which inevitably is their thing.
For example, we have a poster on here he is usually quite sound claiming that his opinion and that of others changed the government's opinion on the herd response. Utter self-opinionated rubbish, how the hell do they know the PM has changed his stance or that the theory is wrong? They don’t but like thousand of little Piers Morgan’s they are convinced they do. Ditto profiteering and assistance on wages etc.
Stop talking crap, you don’t have the figures, you don’t have the facts and virtually nobody has the knowledge!
In these situations which are less than once in a lifetime public opinion and the democratic process counts for very little. Do you think the virus cares what you think?
It’s at times like these where those we elect have to take charge and we have to back them and trust them. They are the only ones with any real oversight and power.
They will get stuff wrong, Churchill got loads wrong. We lost far more battle than the Germans but we won the war, it’s only ever the last battle that really counts.
So why don’t people drop the party political stuff? Sure question things you think are wrong but do so to help not to point score. If you must then do it at home, bore the wife to death.
In the meantime let those with the responsibility do their jobs without this pathetic backbiting.
There will be plenty of time for recriminations later when all the bodies are buried and we have the final tally. How large that number is will depend hugely on people obeying the authorities whether they like it or not.
Some serious growing up is required by some, we’ve all had an easy like since 1945 but the fun may now be over and you might have to get used to it. That, by the way, includes Boris and his vain attempt to appear libertarian, won’t work mate as the virus is a thug.
Oh, and I might be wrong, see its easy
'"
Took me a while to get through the waffle, but I persevered & still couldn’t find where you attempted to answer the very simple points I actually made about NHS beds & chronic underfunding. Waffling is a classic trick, as old as time, used to avoid answering uncomfortable points whilst giving the impression of answering, but feel free to have another go, just keep it to under fifty character if possible mate. Thanks is advance.
Oh & not once did I claim to have changed the course of government policy, but you knew that I was referring to the very obvious changes in their policy & the opposing advice they gave. Another classic trick of grand standing to over exaggerate a point that was never made.
To bring Piers Morgan into it is the most insulted I’ve been in ages though so kudos on that front!!

| Quote Willzay="Willzay"No it isn’t. It’s still “social distancing”.
And Boris is already looking to ease the already lax “restrictions” as well as reducing furlough pay. So expect to see a spike in more unnecessary deaths due to the Tories greed.'"
How do you police a stricter 'lockdown' though? Did you see the pics the other day of the 'plane full of passengers, commercial flights are still happening, albeit on a very limited basis, as are bus, trains etc. Are you suggesting a curfew, can that be policed? Are you suggesting every single person's shopping checked, then non essential items put back on the shelf? What is essential food? Some people have medical conditions that require a certain diet, would they have to prove this to someone in a supermarket? Where does the manpower come from? As the mantra has been, stay at home, protect the NHS, save lives, they are asking people to do this, not telling, because realistically they simply can't control 60 million peoples daily movements can they.

| Quote Wollo-Wollo-Wollo-Wayoo="Wollo-Wollo-Wollo-Wayoo"The lockdown is only as lax as individuals make it. How about the unnecessary deaths due to peoples stupidity.'"
That's very true and you make a good point, but......what about the 'unnecessary' deaths of people who followed the stay at home message and didn't seek medical help at a hospital and sadly died as a result? Gps are apparently crying out for people to contact them and the NHS generally for non covid conditions?! Care homes are basically breeding grounds for bacteria and germs, I know because my partner used to work in one, why weren't some of those residents transferred to a nightingale hospital within their locality, then maybe some more lives could have been saved??

| FFS am I going to have to shut this one too? It really isn't needed.
Over 30,000 people have died in this country and you are arguing whether we should call it a lockdown or social distancing. Get a grip.
