| I know that come December the lease will be up but a decision regarding the rent would have to be made before that to enable the club to either accept a reduction or make plans to move on.
It could be that with the seasons over by a couple of months we may not be playing any more home games at the old girl.
It would be nice to pay some respect to her and to have some kind of get together one last time. Providing its not the 1st of December would it be possible to play our seasonal boxing day game at home. The club could make some money out of the event and Im sure it would attract a good gate. It could be one hell of an event.
Its been part of the history of wakefield and a good part of my own personal family history. I just think that regardless of the circumstances we should make one hell of an effort to say goodbye.

| Couldn't agree more. A Boxing Day home game would be a great way to bow out of BV. After over 50 years stood on the old terraces I'm sure the last home game, whenever it is, will leave a few tears and a hell of a lot of memories. My late father was a rugby fan but did not follow one club. I got him to BV in the old stand and watched the amazement on his face when Andrew Fletcher ran the full length to score . I know others will have memories just the same so let's play at home this Boxing Day. We can stay until December anyway!

| I doubt it will happen because it will cost them too much to keep the ground playable and we know what that means. I would if I was you work on our last home game in the middle 8's as being our last.
It is a pity because she deserves better than what I expect them to do which is nothing.

| I know what you are saying Scarlet but it would be a good opportunity to push the boat out . A properly organised event with tickets sold over a 3 month period should give the club a healthy income. Speculate to accumulate or maybe not.

| I think the may own the stand, dug outs, Benidorm flats and other assets at the ground. Bank of Ireland own the land. My suggestion would be to hold an auction day, sell the seats, sections of turf etc, have the buyers take the goods away on the day then have a ritual bulldozing of the the site.

| We dont want to risk losing the away game at the Leeds teams are queing up for that one and we are lucky to have it every year, the money we make off that game is huge on boxing day. A home game before is a better idea.

| I don't think leeds would object to playing the one game at B V especially due to the circumstances. I know we should make good income from the game at Leeds but I also think we could with the right organisation make a good sum from playing at home. If its not possible or worth it go for new years eve game.
I just think that our last home game of the 8s could be played and that would be it with no chance to give the old girl a send off. It comes down to time scale and when the club actually know if a rent reductions possible or not.
If handled correctly it could be a money spinner, It would be a shame not to have some kind of event.

| I fully agree with the sentiments here but....
We know the Wakefield public are a fickle lot, would anyone bother turning up on Boxing Day/ New Year's Eve? I'd have though a well publicised game two weeks after the season's end would be a better idea. And would we have any players willing to play as it appears most have jumped ship already?

| It does not really matter which players take the field if the game came off. It is not the players that matter, it is giving a fond farewell to the old lady and remembering the happier times we all have spent there.
