Being top 6 perhaps he didn't need to or am I stating the obvious.
Just because fans think players are ready it doesn't mean they are.

As A Hull fan the most frustrating thing to see week in week out is looking at the bench before kick off and seeing Will Sharp (a winger) on the bench and brought on for the last 5 mins, this must have happened on at least 6 occasions, other coaches at top teams would have put a young forward on the bench and given him a couple of stints. Agar it appeared to us had a lack of faith in playing the kids and instead chose to waste a bench sopt on a winger who he had no intention of using.

I think people are missing the point to a degree, it's not about whether he has a record for developing young players at hull it's about whether he has the ability to develop them at Wakefield.
His remit at Trinity will be different to that which he had at FC in so much as the directive from the BoD will be to develop and promote an infrastructure that cultivates and takes advantage of a superb youth development structure.
Part of the interview process will have been focused on the prospective coach's ability and desire to deliver on the youth directive.
We already have one of the best systems in the game which is soon to be improved by funding from the 1873 club, that is where our future strength lies and Richard Agar must have recognised that fact or he wouldn't have been appointed.
Hull fans, journalists and just about anyone else can point to the past all they want but it bares no relevance to what's going to happen at Wakefield.

devils advocate a bit here, but he might have said he wanted to promote the youth, work with them etc to get the job. not everyone who ever applied for a job told the complete truth.
i am not saying he will or won't, but i do think a better indication is his past experience of doing something, rather than what he said in his interview.="The ClanI think people are missing the point to a degree, it's not about whether he has a record for developing young players at hull it's about whether he has the ability to develop them at Wakefield.

And if we pour an extra £250K a year into the youth system only for the coach to go against his word and more crucially against the directives issued by the BoD then said coach won't last too long.
Richard Agar will probably have performance targets to meet and will be regularly assessed against them, if he's failing to meet certain targets he will be held to account.

As Clan has said, I firmly believe that Richard will be TOLD that this is a requirement. We are not in a position (yet) to sign World beaters.
We have one of the best youth development departments in Super League and as such I believe a big part of the interview and selection criteria will have been focused on this area.
Past performance will not matter, his remit will be to develop and bring through the youngsters. This will not be optional, it is the best and most sensible route forward for Wakefield Trinity.
