Having listened to Shaun Wane last night it was good to hear him state that EVERY player will have to prove themselves worthy of a first team place or they will be replaced by someone else more deserving of a chance.

Aye that's the way it should be.

Make or break time for Pryce, Fielden, Goulding, Phelps, Roberts, Riddell, Coley IMO.........

Phelps stands out like a sore thumb on that list, he's actually quite good and in form from what I've seen.

Too right. Clean slate, reputations out of the window. He might even look at the captain and think of giving it to someone else. (Can't see Wane wanting Sean to lose it). He should look at all and everything, from the pitch to the kit man, the whole set up from top to bottom. Thats what all the successfull coaches do regardless of what sport they are in. IMO Thats what Maguire should be doing.

But OOC after next year, and takes up a quota spot. He needs to carry on improving and show that he's worth the quota spot especially with it reducing every year. At this moment in time if Briscoe were available I, and most others would see phelps go for him to come in every time.

Phelps has been a stand out player this season and I have no doubt he will continue to improve. I do agree fielden pryce, goulding and Amos need to step up and show what they are worth.

No one should be immune from the microscope, the pack, centre, half back, full back all need to be looked at regardless of position or reputation.
Phelps has had a good season, he is good at coming through on the burst and supporting, but he isn't the best under pressure (i.e. Cas).

I'd take Briscoe back in an instant. Although Phelps has adapted to the role well he is nowhere near the finished article Briscoe is. Think Phelps has just been made to look really good as we had to put up with Mathers for so long

Wasn't phelps MOM against cas? I agree nobody can be immune, I was stating the players I believe will have more to prove than anyone else.

MOM but cost us tries, he has been a revalation at FB but it just worries me if he gets targeted.
