Can't say i blame him - he was very patient here but it was obvious he wasn't ever going to be 1st choice with Jerry and Smurph around.
16 tries in 30 games shows his calibre though !
Shame we didn't get to see more of him (or more his pace) but i don't think he did too bad for us , Good luck to the fella !!

Would certainly suggest Mcgillivary is staying for next season at least.

I also think It's a mistake, but i don't blame him, we don't have the style of game to suit his pace, and unlike Jerry it is pretty much all he has, good luck to him.

Tough to keep your back-up backs though if they're decent players who could be starters elsewhere. We wanted to keep Ben Jones Bishop at Leeds but he knew he'd be behind Hall and Briscoe. Not like in the forwards when you're pretty confident you'll get some games as a back-up.

Would love to have seen more of him. Feel like he never took his chance wether it be because of him individually or how we utilised him. Who will be our 3rd choice winger next season?

I have a lot f respect for this man. He is a very good player who would get in a lot of other super league teams.
When he has not been picked he has remained professional and supported the team and players picked a head of him.
When he's played he's done ok but for me he is the one I would prefer to lose out of the three wingers we have.
For me he is too good to keep as a back up player and deserves regular game time some where else.
I would imagine he is on a decent wage so will free up some brass to bring through some youngsters or bring another player in.
Also has Jodie jacked in whatever work he was doing on the side? Can't remember what it was but it was one of the reasons he wanted to come back over the Pennines from Salford.

He was working as a Quantity surveyor. - chatted to him for a while at one of the open things when he first signed as my other half is in a similar line of work and knows the firm- he told me us was the reason he took the offer from hudds as Salford were less understanding about him having the other job whereas hudds were more accommodating. Perhaps he's served his time and is now chartered and so can concentrate on his rugby.

no great loss as mcgillvary and murphy are my first choice wingers

expected big things of him when we signed him but through no fault of his own its just not worked out for him so no surprise to see him leave

will give us some space in the salary cap too to maybe keep some one else or bring some one in.
