Good to see the club recognising our local 'amateur' clubs. That, for me, is what the spirit of the proposed new RL structure is about - clubs at all levels pulling together, for the mutual strength of the Game. Let's face it, Championship clubs, and certainly ours, would be all the poorer, but for the likes of Miners and East. If only the SL clubs would all recognise that they too, would be much worse off, without the Championship clubs, and the 'amateur' clubs.

Yes Alan i remember, in fact it was the first time i had known that happen and was so chuffed and proud of our club. It was because of that thread and some of the comments that made me post what i did . If i remember correctly ( no guarantee there lol) one or two had digs for not paying miners for players who went on to big and better things from Leigh after Leigh getting them from miners. |

I understood where you were coming from with your post - it does happen! It's about time the club valued BOTH the town's cracking 'amateur' clubs. (i.e. as they now appear to be doing) |
