| You should as you could claim gift aid and would encourage others to give as a tax benefit.

I would suggest it would have to become a ' trust ' to become a charity

Well www.hmrc.gov.uk/charities/tax/recognition.htm#1
I will be discussing this very soon with a former employee of HMRC' should we be recognised as a charity it would increase a £5 per month contribution to £6.25' the extra being the basic rate tax the contributor has paid on that £5 and that would be claimed back from the HMRC by LISA and not the individual..

I may just be being blonde here but only £5 comes out of the bank so how does LISA get the extra £1.25?

I think you would claim it back every quarter from HMRC.

| Sad to report LISA does not meet the requirements to qualify as a Charity.

| It'd be worth £6. 20% relief (i.e a fifth) would earn back £1 under the Gift Aid relief system.
Edit: Unless you're a higher or additional rate taxpayer...like Frank.
Edit II: Just ignore me, I'm an idiot.
