16,000 RL fans vs 500,000 cycling fans.
If we want more coverage than the cycling we need to get more people interested in the sport than the cycling.
By far the best and cheapest way to get coverage of RL is by paying for a TV licence. |

I can watch and sit through pretty much any sport (I actually enjoy the track cycling), but i tried watching a bit of this cycling this weekend.....my good god it's absolutely dire. A friend posted a video of themselves at the event just as the riders shot past in a blink of an eye and that was it, done.
How on earth that sport has become so popular is a mystery to me. Has to be the worst sport I've ever tried to watch and I include those niche ones you only see at olympics or find late on Sky Sports like ten-pin bowling.
(This isn't a whine or anything to do about RL popularity btw so we don't need the inevitable facts and figures posted with a "yeah but look at their numbers"icon_wink.gif

| I quite enjoy cycling, you can get quite deep into the team tactics they use and that intrigues me. However it does baffle me how popular it is as i realise team tactics sounds quite dull maybe it's to do with the ease of people being able to hop on a bike themselves and pretend to be Bradley Wiggins? Not as easy to run out in a park smashing people pretending to be james graham... |

They had RL on AM and cycling "chatter" on FM and DAB however my radio is an FM/DAB like most people who have a DAB set.
